Ever have one of those Mondays that just seems to be especially Monday-esque? Today was definitely one of those Mondays. It started like any other Monday - I was in denial about getting out of bed and contributing to society. I skipped the shower (and brushing my hair - opps!) and went straight for washing my face, brushed my teeth, popped on the littlest bit of makeup (I really need to learn how to do my own makeup) and made my way out the door. I don't have a designated lunchbox, so half the time I just throw something in my purse diaper bag.
Can I just pause and say that I love this bag. Love. Seriously. I mean.... I've always been a "big purse" kind of girl, and even during school I preferred messenger bags to traditional backpacks... so when I found this vinyl beauty two plus years ago it was definitely love at first sight.
.... you read that right just now. I found this bag two years ago and have been sporting it ever since. Who cares that my baby is now a toddler and I could probably function using an actual purse rather than a bag found in the baby section - it's functional.
And today I proved that point.
An egg broke in my purse this morning.
Yup. An egg.
And it got all over EVERYTHING. After I dismantled the contents of my bag, carefully cleaning the egg off of each and every wonderful and totally necessary thing that I needed in my bag, I attempted to wipe out the bag itself with baby wipes that also just so happened to be in my bag :)
I'll admit, the baby wipes did not do the trick... there was still a little residual yellow at the bottom corner of the bag. It was just enough discoloration to leave me disheartened. However, I assumed that egg was no match for a little shout and cheer!
((I'm a bit of a laundry dork))
After two rounds of stain remover and a go-around in the washer, the egg was officially gone, and my beautiful bag is currently hanging to dry.
So, the long and short of this whole day...? I absolutely love this bag, and would highly suggest it to any mom... and also, if you're going to put an egg in your bag to cook for breakfast at work, I'd recommend putting it in a sandwich bag first.
Happy Monday!
